Rima Fakih is the third Miss Michigan USA to win the coveted Miss USA Pageant. She is also the third winner of the Miss USA Pageant in four years to stumble during her formal gown competition (becoming a prerequisite?). It was just a slight stumble (and she wasn’t the only one during the Miss USA 2010 Pageant to do so), which she later noted was due to the ungainly long train. But there was no stumbling going on in 2007, probably due to the stripper’s pole Rima Fakih leaned up, rubbed up against, and held onto while winning the stripper pole dancing competition. That, and the fact that she didn’t have on a long gown with an ungainly train. She did, however, have on high heels — which are, apparently, required of both formal gown wearers at the Miss USA Pageant competitions and strippers.
Rima is said to be the first Arab American to win the Miss USA crown. She will now go on to represent the United States at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, on August 22nd.
